Here at Pine Bluff First Assembly, we are many things -
passionate, devoted, loving - just to mention a few. But
most of all, we are family
- a family that loves God and
people.
Because the people make the church great - not the physical
structures, we invite you to become familiar with the people
who are part of our church family and celebrate the
ministries that you will also see represented.
It is our prayer that this will serve as a reminder of God's
incredible blessings to us, to our families, and to this
congregation. We hope that the few pictures you see here can
give you a glimpse of who we are and what we are all about.
Adult Ministry It is easy to erroneously assume adults have fewer needs because our world is so technologically advanced or that they are just too busy to participate in ministry options, but First Assembly practices a strong commitment to minister to the diverse needs of adults - regardless of age, gender, or special circumstances.
In addition to corporate worship and dynamic pulpit ministry, adults need discipleship, mentoring, fellowship, etc. Christian Education opportunities at First Assembly include the option of selecting from different topical electives each quarter -- offered during Sunday school (10:00 A.M. each Sunday morning), Wednesday evenings corresponding with the adult Bible study and ministry to children and youth (6:30 P.M.), and various specially scheduled classes throughout the year. Classes designed to target special needs include Turning Point (dealing with life-controlling issues), Financial Peace University (biblical financial training), classes designed to ministry to gender-related needs of men and women, family and parenting, etc.
All discipleship and training opportunities are also designed to work in conjunction with other facets of ministry, providing fellowship opportunities to meet the social needs of our adults and encouraging volunteer service, consistent evangelism, and missions' commitment.
Some adult ministry is designed for a specific group with the purpose of providing fellowship and social interaction. For example, the Bridge (for young adults who are eighteen and have completed high school through twenty-five years old). The Sonshiners (men and women who are fifty-five and older) meet the second Tuesday of each month at 11:30 A.M. for a potluck fellowship. Both inspirational and informative speakers, relevant discussion topics, and age-appropriate programs are included each month.
Our adult ministry is committed to growing men and women in relationship to God, their family, and their community. We believe that it is our responsibility to challenge you to a higher level of living. With God's help we are empowering men and women in our community to be leaders in the church, home and life.
