Here at Pine Bluff First Assembly, we are many things -
passionate, devoted, loving - just to mention a few. But
most of all, we are family
- a family that loves God and
people.
Because the people make the church great - not the physical
structures, we invite you to become familiar with the people
who are part of our church family and celebrate the
ministries that you will also see represented.
It is our prayer that this will serve as a reminder of God's
incredible blessings to us, to our families, and to this
congregation. We hope that the few pictures you see here can
give you a glimpse of who we are and what we are all about.
Children’s Ministry
Under the direction of Pastor Tim Shurley, separate children’s services are conducted at 8:30 and 11:00 A.M. each Sunday morning. (Christian education classes for children are offered at 10:00 A.M. during the regular Sunday school hour.) These services are designed to lead children to Jesus and facilitate growth and spiritual maturity in a high-energy and age-appropriate format.
Age-appropriate ministry is also available for babies and preschoolers during both morning worship services. (Nursery for birth to three years is available for every service.)
Preschoolers learn biblical truths in Junior Kids’ Church, toddlers learn Bible stories and principles of Christian character, and babies receive quality care and see the love of Jesus demonstrated.
In order to develop leadership qualities and prepare them for the transition to youth ministry, special after-school ministry to fifth and sixth graders takes place each Wednesday afternoon.
Also, Royal Rangers, ministry for boys, and Missionettes, ministry for girls, occurs each Wednesday evening at 6:30 as well. Sidewalk Sunday school, an outreach ministry to the children of the community, is conducted monthly.
Volunteers and members of the regular children’s ministry team conduct this outreach under the leadership of Pastor Tim Shurley. A variety of opportunities for fun, fellowship, training, and service are available to children. First Assembly believes that investment in children (and youth) is the wisest investment for the future.
