Rev. Floyd McDonnell began preaching and evangelizing at the age of 16. He actually began his ministry in his home church, Revival Tabernacle, in Stanley, North Carolina. There, mentored by his grandparents, Pastors Robert and Ruby Gittens, he served as full-time youth pastor and traveled extensively preaching and singing the Word of God. At the age of 20, he received a Pre-Ministerial A.A. degree from Gaston College, North Carolina. He subsequently received his B.A. degree in Pastoral Ministries from Central Bible College of the Assemblies of God in Springfield, Missouri.
Pastor Floyd has served in many capacities of ministry within the church (e.g., youth pastor, associate pastor, minister of music, and interim pastor). He now resides in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, with his beautiful wife, Caryn, and his two wonderful sons, Andrew and Matthew. He is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God and currently serves as senior associate and music associate at First Assembly of God, Pine Bluff, Arkansas under the direction of Senior Pastor Gary Bell. Pastor Floyd is an accomplished musician and has been given a unique anointing and ability to bridge the generational gap and bring an appealing balance in praise and worship that people of all generations appreciate. His pulpit style is Pentecostal, challenging, and grounded in the Word of God.
In addition to his responsibilities at First Assembly, Pastor Floyd continues to travel, evangelizing and singing in numerous conferences throughout the year. He has a completed 3 CD projects to date, (“One More Time,” “Hallelujah Campmeeting LIVE!” and his latest project, “Just Hymn,” a collection of great hymns of the church) and has also published a booklet entitled “The Names of God,” in which he uses a study of the nine names of Jehovah to reveal in detail Who JESUS is.
