Yulonda James
Church Evangelist

Evangelist Yulonda James has a heart to see women healed, delivered, and set free by the power of the Holy Spirit and believes that God has uniquely prepared her for that specific ministry—both through the empowerment of the Spirit and the wisdom and insight gained through a combination of personal experience and education. After undergoing the fire of testing in her own marriage in 1996, she began to seek the Lord with her whole heart. It was during this time that God’s ministry purpose for her life became clear. She was subsequently filled with the Baptism in the Holy Spirit in 1998 under the ministry of the late Apostle Dolister Brunson. She is now confident that God will both complete the work in her that he has started (Philippians 1:6) and use her ministry to touch the lives of women.

Evangelist James and her family serve and minister under the covering of Pastor Gary Bell and First Assembly of God Church. In addition to numerous opportunities to minister in women’s conferences, retreats, and revivals (both in the community and across the state of Arkansas), Evangelist James has a heart for worship and ministry at First Assembly, where she is a teacher in the “For Women Only” Sunday school class and a member of both the praise/worship team and the sanctuary choir.

Because her educational preparation is diverse, it often serves to open many doors of ministry for Evangelist James. Although she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in 1991, the Holy Spirit led her to attend Agape School of World Evangelism/Missions in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 2000. She not only completed that study in 2002 but also is currently pursuing ministerial certification through Global University for the Assemblies of God. Furthermore, she is a licensed cosmetologist, and she and her husband have been the owners of Great Expectations Beauty Salon in Pine Bluff for seven years. For her, the salon is just another place to minister. It is her passion to see healing, restoration, salvation, reconciliation, and intercession take place there. She understands that women often need “beauty for ashes” on the inside more than they need cosmetic improvements on the outside.

Evangelist James and her husband, Stanley, have been married for sixteen years and have three children—LaKoyia, Tiffany, and Stanton.
